Amnesty International (AI) is looking for a Director to head up the Information Technology Programme.
Experience in leading ICT functions at a senior level, in a complex organisation in particular, development of strategies, management of projects and the provision of ICT services in a multilingual environment is essential. Broad understanding of technology is expected, covering current ICT systems and technologies and how these can be used to support the organisation (infrastructure, data centre, networking, databases, development and security). S(he) must also have: professional management and planning skills, a proactive approach to management, including management of change, sound judgement, personal integrity, cultural sensitivity and a commitment to Equal Opportunities, justice and human rights. Good English and excellent presentation skills are also required. Professional certifications (IT, project management, and service management) would be an advantage. Reporting to the Senior Director for Finance, the successful candidate will lead the provision of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services for the International Secretariat (IS), taking the lead in building a global approach to ICT issues affecting the Amnesty International (AI) movement worldwide. The post holder will take responsibility for the development of appropriate ICT strategies, the delivery of cost-effective ICT services and the overall management of the IT Programme (team of 22). As a member of the management structure of the IS, the post holder contributes to the support of the core activities of the organisation.
